JDate is a network for Jewish singles to meet potential relationship partners.

Who can use JDate?

You need to be at least 18 years old. You don't have to be Jewish as you can select "not willing to convert" as your religion in the initial profile registration. JDate is used throughout the world and can be accessed in several languages.

What private information will I have to give when registering?   

You will need to name your sex, country, region, city, say if you are a smoker or non-smoker, present relationship status, height, education level, religious background, how often you go to synagogue, how many children do you have, do you want more children, your real first name, user name, birth date, email address and create a password.

What is the difference between a member and a subscriber on JDate?

Membershipis free and subscribing requires a fee. A member registers on the site by submitting minimum personal information (see above question). Members then fill in the kind of partner they're looking for according to a list of criteria and search the site viewing profiles of other site users. Members can make contact with up to 30 users a day using an initial standard message called a "Flirt." Members can view message boards but not participate in them and they can send E-cards.  

Subscribers can use all the services available to members in addition to getting free JDate mobile access, participate in chat rooms and message boards, connect with instant messaging, contact other users by email and know when emails and Flirts have been read.

Subscribers pay a free (see question below) and can then have use of the site in every way including having contact with other site users.

How much does it cost to use JDate?

Registration as a member is free and you get limited access of the site (see above). Full access of the site as a subscriber costs $39.99 for one month, for 3 months $23.99 per month and a 6 month subscription costs $19.99 per month. A 6 month Premium Subscription costs $12.99 per month and includes a highlighted profile and member spotlight which will get you noticed more easily.

What are the methods of payment for JDate?

You can pay online by credit card (American Express, Discover, Master Card or Visa), by phone or by posting a check or money order.

Does JDate screen members or verify their personal details?

JDate does not verify profile information and does not take responsibility for accuracy or safety of the members.

What about people registering with false personal information?

When you agree to the Terms of Use on JDate you agree to only give accurate data about yourself, if JDate discovers that you have in anyway falsified your personal information your membership will be terminated.

What if I want to discontinue my JDate subscription?

To cancel a subscription log onto the site using your membership details, click on "Member Services" and go to "Cancel Subscription". There are no refunds for partially used subscriptions and you cannot give your subscription to someone else or put it on hold.

How do I renew my subscription?

The subscription is automatically renewed unless you give instructions to cancel it.
